| Sterilization
The SyriJet Mark II and the rubber caps can be sterilized by Autoclaving, or Cold Sterilization. It must be emphasized at this point that dry heat methods of sterilization are not to be used for sterilizing this instrument.
Autoclaving
Cleanse the instrument thoroughly using dishwashing detergent. Place the instrument in an autoclaving bag and seal before placing the bag in the autoclave.
Replace rubber cap before making first injection.
Cold Sterilization
Remove rubber cap only, and keep the anesthetic cartridge in place. Place the instrument in a vertical position with 1" of the head immersed in cold sterilizing solution.
Prior to the use of the instrument, rinse thoroughly as recommended by the manufacturer of the solution used.
Note: Certain cold sterilizing solutions such as Zepherin Chloride produce a precipitate which might affect the proper performance of the instrument. These solutions are not recommended.
Cleaning Procedures
To insure trouble free performance, your SyriJet must be cleaned at least once each week.
Cartridge must be in place during cleaning.
To clean instrument externally, wash in any dishwashing detergent, and rinse thoroughly with hot water.
Your SyriJet may also be cleaned in any Ultrasonic cleaner, if the detergent used is one of the mild detergent group.
Intermittent cleaning can also be accomplished with an alcohol sponge. |
